September - Favorite Cowboys

September in St. George brings more than cooler evenings and the promise of fall—it’s also a time to celebrate heritage, family, and community. This month, we’re shining a light on our favorite cowboys—both in spirit and in tradition—through festivals, family memories, and community gatherings.

Week 1: Pioneer Appreciation

Before there were parades and rodeos, there were pioneers carving out homes and communities here in the desert. Their grit, perseverance, and determination set the foundation for all of us who live and celebrate here today. This week, we honor those early trailblazers who carried the true cowboy spirit—working hard, caring for their families, and building a legacy that still shapes us.

Week 2: Round-Up Rodeo — September 18–20, 2025

The St. George Round-Up Rodeo is always a highlight of the year! This year’s rodeo will run from September 18–20, 2025, and we can’t wait to join in the fun. With bucking broncos, fearless riders, and the energy of the arena, it’s a celebration of western tradition at its finest. We’re excited to also be part of the parade—so be sure to wave when you see us go by!

Week 3: Remembering Grandpa Jim

Our favorite cowboy in spirit will always be Grandpa Jim. While he wasn’t a cowboy in the traditional sense, he carried that cowboy heart in his love of country music, classic western movies, and the funny stories he loved to tell. He brought laughter, wisdom, and a sense of joy wherever he went, reminding us that being a cowboy is as much about the way you live and share life as it is about riding a horse. This week, we honor him and the legacy of spirit he left behind.

Week 4: Swiss Days Parade — September 25–27, 2025

Right on the heels of the rodeo comes Swiss Days, happening September 25–27, 2025. It’s a time to celebrate heritage, enjoy great food and music, and come together as a community. We’ll be joining in the parade once again, bringing along plenty of cowboy spirit and hometown pride. It’s the perfect way to close out a month full of celebrations and favorite cowboy memories.

Wrapping Up September

From honoring pioneers and cheering on rodeo riders to remembering Grandpa Jim’s cowboy-at-heart spirit and parading through Swiss Days, this September is all about celebrating what makes cowboys so enduring. Cowboys aren’t just about boots and saddles—they’re about stories, traditions, and the way we bring people together. And that’s a legacy worth celebrating all month long.
